About Our Club

Ride to Eat, Eat To Ride

It is no concidence that the VJLA's rides all seem to involve eating.   We appreciate the link between good times and good grub!

Our Rides

Since 1993 VJLA has sponsored annual rides to Death Valley every spring.  These are always a fun adventure and are not to be missed.

Also since about 1993 we have had an annual Christmas lights ride, where we tour local holiday season highlights like the Griffith Park display, Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena, the Balian Mansion also in Altadena, and the Hastings ranch neighborhood in Pasadena.

Our Carpinteria beach campout is new for 2007.  We will ride from Pasadena up to Carpinteria by back roads, going through Ojai, Frazier Park, Taft, and the Carrizo Plain.

A continuing tradition

The VJLA was founded in 1991 by a few local vintage Japanese motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a local club that sponsors rides.

From 1993 to 1999 we had paid memberships and published monthly newsletters.

From 2000 until 2007 we went underground, preferring to keep things simple.

But now, we are back!  And we are official -- Chapter 4 of the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of America.
